Our verdict

6/10

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Players: 1–8
  • Playtime: 2–3 h

LiMiT's Escape Room Games is a small first-person escape room package from solo developer Marco Hirschfeld. It holds two levels: an apartment built around combination locks, and a harder office where you hunt for objects and work through logic puzzles. You can play alone, but it is built for online co-op, with room for up to eight players and two to four recommended. It suits a group of friends who want a cheap digital stand-in for a real escape room night.

Player opinion is split. Steam rates it Mixed, with about 46 of 66 reviews positive. A detailed positive review praises how closely it captures the feel of a real escape room, with locked drawers, hidden compartments and deduction rather than action. A negative review gave up within minutes over bugs, and that worry shows up often enough to keep the score down.

Each level is meant to take an hour to an hour and a half, so expect about one evening of content. There is a hint system and a colourblind mode, which is thoughtful for a budget release. At a few dollars it is worth a try for a co-op group that has finished the bigger names; solo players and anyone with little patience for rough edges should look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Online co-op for up to eight players at a budget price
  • Two rooms with distinct styles: combination locks vs. logic-heavy office
  • Built-in hints and a custom colourblind mode

Cons

  • Players report bugs that can end a session early
  • Only two rooms, roughly one evening of play
  • Harder office level is designed around a group, less fun solo

About

From the Steam store page · View on Steam
Try to solve the two levels of this Escape Room Games alone or with your friends. Both levels are designed for about 1 to 1.5 hours of play. The two levels differ in difficulty. The level "Apartment" has an average difficulty with several combination puzzles. The level "Office" has a hard difficulty. Here the goal is to find objects and solve tricky puzzles through logic. This level is best played with your friends.
