Our verdict

8/10

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Players: 1
  • Playtime: 2–4 h

Escape From Mystwood Mansion from Lost Sock Studio is a single-player, first-person escape game that chains five puzzle-filled rooms together inside a mansion. You play a delivery driver who steps inside to drop off a package and gets locked in by an unseen puzzle-maker. It suits solo players who want a cozy, low-stress escape room evening, and reviewers often call it a solo take on We Were Here.

Players rate it Very Positive, with about 92 percent of over 1,100 reviews recommending it. They describe logical, observation-based puzzles with no moon logic, a good optional hint system at every step, hidden shortcuts that let you skip some puzzles, and a few nice easter eggs. Most call the difficulty easy to medium; genre veterans find it simple.

Two complaints repeat. It is short, with most players finishing in two to five hours, often including every achievement. And progress only saves when you finish a room, so quitting mid-room means starting it over. Many reviewers say it is worth it, but on sale. Pick it up for a relaxed evening of tidy puzzles; skip it if you want a real challenge or co-op.

Pros

  • Logical, observation-based puzzles with no moon logic
  • Optional step-by-step hint system for when you stall
  • Alternate solutions let you skip some puzzles

Cons

  • Only saves between rooms, so quitting mid-room loses progress
  • Short for the price; best bought on sale
  • Too easy for experienced escape room fans
